Never did for me.

The Neutrogena Gentle Cleanser (in the white and robins egg blue pump) works much better at getting off makeup.

I love Josie Karan argan cleansing oil. Agree with PP, it has really helped my acne prone but dry skin. Also gets rid of eye makeup so only one step.

Well gentle does not equal chemicals or parabens or sulfates so I kindly disagree.

Paula's Choice has some good facial cleansers.

Just stay away from the acne and the organic cleansers. Everything else is fine.

I use cetaphil with cotton balls. I use retin a for acne and it really keeps the redness and peeling down. Also "wash" my face with 100% coconut oil when I shower.

Anonymous wrote:Surprised nobody's mentioned oil cleansing, I have been doing it for about a year now and it's fabulous. Fwiw my skin has always been extreme-combination. Where it's oily, it's really oily, and where it's dry, it's rough and flaky. Ocm really evened everything out, it's easy and I can muck around with the essential oils in it (ie some eucalyptus if I have a cold).

OP here - this is intriguing. Tell me more about this. How do you clean with an oil? Do you use water as well? What is Ocm?? Please recommend where I can get something like this.

Manuka honey foaming face wash by Wild Ferns. I buy it on amazon. So rich and foamy and skin feels moisturized and clean. Love it! I use all their products.. Body wash, moisturizers etc.

NP. It does if it's the only thing that doesn't irritate your skin. If I could find a paraben-free cleanser that worked as well - and I've tried - I'd use it. Its affordability is a nice plus.

also, not every chemical is bad and cancer causing!

I use Cerave face wash. I like the foaming cleanser and it is gentle, but the creamy hydrating cleanser is most gentle.

I used to be a big Cetaphil fan then they changed the formulas. The Cetaphil face wash has a fragrance. The bath washes have sunflower oil (which my peanut allergy child can't tolerate).

Cetaphil used to = allergen-free. No longer.

We use the gold eucerin "oil" wash. It has essential oils that cleans the face and hydrates it.
