| Hotel El Convento. It's an old renovated convent. Absolutely wonderful, they have a daily wine HH. It's in Old San Juan but they have a sister hotel on the beach that they can transfer you to. There are a couple of restaurants and a bar attached. |

I second the Caribe Hilton, as long as you make sure you get one of the renovated rooms. It has a small, private beach, and a nice pool. It has three or four restaurants on the premises, including a sushi restaurant I happen to enjoy  , and a couple of bars. It is on the edge of Old San Juan, so if you want to see the old city, you may want to drive in. For more of a boutique feel, El Convento is great. Although it doesn't have beach access, it does have a pool, and it has a nice restaurant. El Convento is also more centrally located in Old San Juan, making walking around the city VERY easy.
