Child Development Center in Clarendon

Our 2.5 year old daughter is at CDC and we have generally had a positiv experience. Are there things that I would change -of course but I think that is going to occur no matter where you send your child. We had a wonderful experience in the infant class and could not have asked for a more warm primary caregiver. The second year, the teacher was so-so and this year we are more pleased with the teacher and the energy she brings to the class. I think in sum, the biggest challenge is finding a teacher that you like for your child but the one thing that I finding is that this is going to be a life long process.

I have NEVER seen a child mistreated -in fact, there was a situation where one of the other student's complained about the way a teacher reprimanded their child and the next day that teacher was removed from the class but I can't speak on the specifics of that situation. I love that the school provides so many activities for the kids, and there are always festivities around holidays. It is religious based center but other than grace and bible class, they don't force that much on you. We have had a few minor complaints and they have been very responsive. They have an educational concsultant of some sort there that is always looking for ways to enhance the curriculum. You see the director all the time and while she is a little shy/reserved, she surrounds herself with good people who seem to make the decisions in the best interest of the center. The other thing is the director founded the center when she was 18 -she is now in her 50s, I think so her heart is in the place! We are expecting our second child in July and planning to send him/her there. I hope that the preschool curriculum continues to progress as my daughter gets older because I would love to keep her there!

Any other recent feedback on FBCC-CDC in Clarendon? I am trying to decide if it's worth taking a tour. Particularly interested in the two-year-olds class.
