ISO accountant and attorney for DCUM

Yes, I fully expect an ongoing relationship with the accountant. I also expected I would need that with the lawyer, though some posts here suggest otherwise. I am definitely not looking for freebies. We have plenty of money. I just want to spend it wisely and legally.

I realize you're in MD I think, but if you're willing to travel, try Art Lander, CPA in Arlington.

Arthur Lander CPA
3130 N. 10th St.
Arlington, Va. 22201

Realize, of course, this is the busy season for accountants so it might be a bit harder to get an appointment for things unrelated to meeting the April 15 filing deadline.

Thanks. But, we are actually in DC. Arlington, obviously, is not that far.

Maybe you could hire a graphic designer too?

No way! That would destroy the DCUM mystique.

Maybe you need to re-word the title of your post. "Professional assistance" could mean any number of things...

Hi, Jeff--

I would recommend you email a former neighbor of mine, Micah Salb. He's a family lawyer but is great at recommending other lawyers and accountants. He is also a parent and I know he's familiar with DC Urban Mom--I'm pretty sure he used to actively post on the listserv.

Good luck!

Jeff, I think if you had put in the subject heading that this was a message from you, (or described the help you need) you'd have gotten better replies.

I almost didn't open the thread because I thought it was just someone being snarky about all the psychologically messed up people posting on here or something (ie "need professional help")

Okay. Good advice. I'll probably repost in a day or two. You would think I would know how to use a forum by now.

His office is really disorganized, and I wouldn't recommend using his firm. Nice guy, though.

+1.

Something more specific, like "ISO accountant and attorney for small business".

I'll change the topic on this thread and see if that works.

ITA. It was not apparent and I had no idea.

It would be funny if Jeff turned libertarian after going through all the costs and taxes and runnings of a formal business setup.
