Cereal as a class snack

Anonymous
At my daughter's preschool, each parent takes a turn bringing in the snack. I don't think it'd go over well with the 20 kids in the class to bring in anything exotic. Or having to buy 4 or 5 boxes of something.

The rules are you have to bring in 2 of the food groups. So most people do a grain and a fruit. The last time I brought in plain Chex, she said the kids really liked it.

Really? Why not just some candy and juice boxes. How about some orange slices and air popped popcorn?

How old? I'd prefer fruit, roasted chickpeas, healthy oatmeal cookies (made with oatmeal and fruit only), veggies with dip, yogurt, applesauce, hummus with pretzels...

Almost all of that sounds messy and difficult to bring for multiple kids. In our school, snack has to be individually wrapped. And there is no refrigeration.

I see no problem with boring, simple snacks. The purpose is to keep the kids from gnawing their own arm off.
