Makeup that doesn't look good- do you throw away or hang onto it?

I would never.

OP here. The makeup I bought didn't have a tester but even if it does, sometimes I still buy stuff that I decide later doesn't look good.

I personally wouldn't return a used item, even if used only once, but I can understand others doing so if the return policy allows it.

Yeah, I feel like the tester is there *because* there's a no-return policy. I wouldn't buy makeup unless there was a tester (unless it was like black eyeliner or something, obvs.).

I guess you just throw it out then?

I'm too lazy to return it. I also leave it in my draw for a few years before returning it.

But CVS allows you to return any beauty product for any reason - even if it's open. I bet they feel they can sell more if they let you try it out at home. All stores are different with their return policies.

From their website -

Q. I heard that you have a 100% money-back guarantee on beauty purchases. Is it true?

A. It is. Be 100% happy or receive 100% money back on any beauty products. If you're dissatisfied for any reason, you can return the beauty product (opened or unopened) along with your receipt or invoice to any CVS/pharmacy store. We'll refund the full purchase price — no questions asked!

14:23 here.

Ugh, draw should be drawer.

Good to know all this. I always consider it a risk and just deal if I don't like something. I am disgusted by people who open and test something at the drugstore. Also at Ulta at Christmas, little "stocking stuffer" sized items were seemingly opened even though they weren't the Tester. It was pretty gross. Is Ulta typically like that? I'm not sure I"ll go back.
