Agreed! And Seton Hall's deadline is not until June. However, I suspect DD will be fine. It doesn't sound like that kid with the 2.0 who only applied at the Ivies then UVA for good measure. 
Very worst case scenario? I like the classes at the community college then transfer idea. |

| If you can afford it, your child could do a post-grad year at a boarding school. That's what the kids from my private school did (and it was/is one of the top in the country, just an FYI to all those who equate top private with good, or any college admissions!) |

Definitely apply to Michigan before Feb 1. Many of my DCs friends applied EA to Michigan so they'd know in December that they have a solid choice. They mostly have similar scores to yours although pretty high GPAs too. The scores should help there as long as the grades aren't too low. How low are the grades? Ivies are probably out of reach without 3.9 or above in core classes. But plenty of schools should be good options. |

| OP here. Thanks for all the advice. We decided to see what happens and plan for a gap year if DC does not get in. Michigan is a good idea but not the size DC wanted so applying in desperation didn't seem to be the best move. Now looking at substantive GAP programs. |

If Michigan is really an option, then your child should be able to get into a decent school. You probably got some crappy advice on choosing schools - I would be sure to get better advice next time.
Not sure what "substantive GAP programs" are, but for my money "get a job" is probably the best one out there. |
