They're surprisingly good for something from a box!

The double chocolate ones!!

Yes. The only brownies I make now. I wasted a lot of time with scratch recipes but realized it was a waste of time since everyone raves over the mix brownies. If you add 2 tbsp. of espresso powder they are even better. You can also add a cheesecake swirl, caramel topping, Nutella, etc. to make them more unique.

Same here -- nothing I've ever made from scratch is better (sometimes as good, but never better), and I figure why waste the time. As far as "add ins," I've added almond extract. I'd like to try mint favor next time. or mint chips.

"Whatever floats your boat brownies" from food.com are as easy as ghirardelli and you know the quality of your ingredients, or the King Arthur flour recipe. It has a few extra steps, but they turn out so well and are the best that I have ever tasted.

Just have some vanilla ice cream on hand to cut the sweetness.

Sub applesauce or coconut oil it makes them really moist

I like Alton Brown's recipe. They are not as chewy as a box mix, but they have the richest chocolate flavor I've had.

Smitten Kitchen's Best Cocoa Brownies. The only brownies I ever make. Much better with King Arthur dark cocoa powder.

They're the perfect texture: chewy without tasting fake. Even better with 60% Ghirardelli chocolate chips added instead of nuts. Mmmm.

This is my favorite recipe, too! People always go nuts for these, and they are surprisingly easy.
