Lasagna for new mom- bake or take uncooked?

Bake it. So they can heat up small portions as needed.

I think so too. You are busy enough with a new baby and recovering. OR, call and ask.

Bring it baked, and they can reheat the whole thing, or package it into individual servings and freeze them, then reheat as needed.

All pasta freezes fine. I frequently make a giant tray of mac n cheese and freeze it in single-serve squares.

You don't want her to have to bake it but you're ok with her having to repackage it into individual portions? That's 100 times more time consuming.

Cutting it up into chunks and putting it in the freezer takes less than five minutes. I mean maybe, yes, it might be one hundred times, I didn't count, but it's not onerous! And baking it takes, what, an hour? Which is a whole hour that you have to wait for dinner! Nuking an already baked portion takes 5 minutes.

5 minutes = 300 seconds
Turning on an oven = 3 seconds
300/3 = 100

Haha, I should start a tally- seems to be about even! If it makes a difference, I coordinated with other friends so we're spread out and not all bringing the same thing. But I do identify with the point of having a freshly baked meal, so now leaning towards uncooked (I did ask, and she didn't really seem to care either way).

OP, just want to add that you're a great friend for doing something like this.

I prefer unbaked, because I love the taste of fresh baked lasagna. Also, things come up, and it's nice to be able to freeze the whole thing for another day.
