The Methodist Church on Kirby (down the road from Chesterbrook) has before and after.

You would want early birds and frogs. Website is not user friendly. I think it does not cover summer, but there are many opportunities in the summer.

Summary:
FCPS Transportation, Haycock is in Team 47 (Formerly McLean Pyramid)
(April 2014) Acting Transportation Supervisor: Monique Berkeley - 703-249-7100
Office hours: 5:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

I was told a new letter to be sent out clarifying options for next year. In 2014-2015, buses will still bring kids between Haycock and
* Timber Lane ES,
* Franklin Sherman ES,
* Chesterbrook ES,
* 1830 Kirby Road (St Dunstan's Church / Brooksfield School??).
* Church of the Redeemer (wait list per http://redeemermclean.org/v3/ -- after school only)
All three Elementary schools have waiting lists for before and after-school SACC, but they are much shorter list than for Haycock SACC.

There are options with non-FCPS transportation for after school care -- like Karate classes, etc.

But BEFORE care with non-FCPS transportation is limited options--
1. Chesterbrook UMC
2. others?

+1
Transportation has discovered the need for more care options in the McLean area schools. There are very few. They are trying to come up with some better solutions. I believe the above is true. We were given the info from our after school place on this list.

You may want to try NVCC(a church on Dean Ave) they used to do before school care for Haycock but not sure if they still do. I can't speak for the program though as never had a child there.

We were had similar waitlist stats as OP 14 months before K and got in for before school SACC at Haycock before start of K. We are still on the waitlist for afterschool SACC three years later. Another after school option to consider is Metaphor Russian Language School, they pick up at Haycock.

There's an afterschool service that will drive your child wherever you want afterschool out in Chantilly. I wish they'd expand their range.

Agree- it sounds like FCPS Transportation was realizing that more care options were needed and *may* restore some bus routes for one more year.

NVCCC (at Charles Wesley UMC) Our son went to NVCCC for before/after care and was bused to/from Haycock for Kindergarten, but that bus route was cancelled for next year. I don't think they would arrange private transportation, so won't be a real option for Haycock students unless that bus route is restored. A separate bus route takes school-age kids to and from Kent Gardens ES. http://www.nvccc.net/location/
