Would you describe yourself as being the type someone could call princess? |
You probably are hot and blonde. Men approve women despise you!

There is an AA cashier at my grocery store who uses this term with customers (along with sweetie and honey) and its obvious she means it as an endearment. She's very gentle and no one seems offended. Perhaps it's just a habit your friend has. |
+1 I posted earlier and said it was an insult, but based on what you describe here I'm changing my answer. Seems like a quirk but meant to be friendly. No insult. |
Gay friend calls his girlfriends this who are diva like and they are all hot. |
+1 with this analysis. |
From what you've described it sounds more like a verbal tic or phrase more common from where she was raised than some kind of insult. Take her friendliness on face value, although you dont have to do friend stuff outside of the kid activities where you see her.
Life's too short to deliberately look for malice in every utterance. |
I wouldn't think it's an insult. There are TONS of these small little countries out there with royalty. Maybe the grown woman was from Genovia?! |
It depends on how she says it. It seems that it could be either an insult or a compliment depending on who says it. I've always thought it was an insult. People from other countries might think it's a compliment. A dad saying it to his DD it's a compliment. So, who knows. It depends on the way your friend says it and how she acts other times. |
COuld she be royalty from Genovia? |
She just trying to be cute |
If you are like the princesses that post here, it's an insult. Sounds like she's just being nice. |
I have have coworker who is from another country and she will say "my love"' "honey", "sweetie", etc. she has a very vibrant personality, and I love her. Your friend may not mean anything by it at all. Take it as a complement. |
It depends on the person and doesn't sound like an insult here. As a southern woman, we can say "hi, princess" to be nice or "hi, princess" to be bitchy. It is all tone and context. |
When I was young and hot, and had a sort of delicate and quietly entitled air, my gay friends nicknamed me Princess. Thinking of women who use the term as an endearment, I know a very warm 40-something woman from New Jersey who calls other women princess and beautiful. |
