I'm the poster from 10:14. One thing DH and I are wondering is whether we'll be able to do shared risk if we want single embryo transfer. Has anyone been able to do that, or has anyone been told that their clinic would not allow that? The shared risk contract at GW says that you have to let the RE's choose how many embryos to transfer, but I am wondering if we'll be able to negotiate an exception to the contract or work something out with our RE. Thanks and good luck to all!! |
Shady Grove will allow you to do Shared Risk and single embryo transfers. I'm not sure about GW. |
two would be better than one. odds are really low with just one. fresh odds are better than frozen. |
oops sorry, i think you already had the transfer. don't worry about the above. i know several people who got pregnant with just one! good luck |
I was 32 when I started ICSI. First cycle, 2 top grade embies/ and then 1 5 day blast was BFN. On my 2nd cycle we put in 4 and got pregnant w 1. So I think it really depends on your body and the clinic. I had mine outside of the DC area and perhaps at SG and other places the stats would've been different. |
OP here. In case anyone is wondering how it went, I'm pregnant! I did do just the one transfer, and it worked. I'm really glad that I made that decision despite pressure/suggestion from the doc to do 2 or all 3. |
Congrats OP!!! That gives me hope since I'm hoping to do a single embryo transfer too. |
So happy for you, OP. Best of luck and take good care of yourself. |
Great news. Congrats. Thanks for the update. |
OP, not to be nousy, but do you mind sharing the nature of your husband's issue? My husband's sperm count came back low and we're looking at the different options. Before talking to the doc and making a decision, we are wondering if this can be dealt with by undergoing IUI and not IVF.
Thanks. |
