Peter Glassman, at Friendship Hospital for Anim. has for many years been a good person to ask concerning Golden breeders!

Agree- they helped match us with a breeder for our currently 5 month old puppy |
I agree this can be a challenge with rescue organizations. I used to interview potential adoptive families for a different group and both adults working was marked as a negative. It could be overcome with demonstration of a dog-walking service, etc... but we had lots of in-depth follow-up questions if they told us both adults worked. And, if you read the bios of the available dogs on their webpage, for many dogs they mention that it's a dog that needs lots of human companionship, i.e. a SAH adult. Unless you are willing to get a mutt or are less picky about breed choice, then simply getting a rescue dog isn't always the answer. Good luck, OP. We were watching Westminster last night and discussing our next dog. Our two have passed away and we'll probably get our next dog within the next year and we're evaluating our options. |
| We both work FT and adopted a GR from Lucky Dog rescue. Hes definitely not the brightest dog ive ever had but he's so loving. We have a baby and he is wonderful with her. |
| Yes. We got our puppy from caseydvM.com. Diane Casey. Lovely farm, husband is an equine vet. She has been breeding goldens for years. Also recommend GRREAT. We have had two adult rescues from there. Get one of each so they have company!! |
Goldens are rarely the sharpest knives in the drawer! (Signed, GR lover)
