Private & Independent Schools
Just to keep in mind -- Episcopal is a boarding school. There is no day student option. Therefore, it really should be compared with Lawrenceville, Andover, Exeter, etc.
The St. Stephen's graduating class of 2008 had 35% of its students go on to the Ivey's. How does this compare with the DC Big 3?
Where is that statistic about St. Stephen's coming from? I had heard from the school a statistic that over 25% of last year's class went to an Ivy or UVA. I'm surprised that the school wouldn't use their best statistic (35% to an Ivy).
those numbers don't add up - I highly doubt the 35 percent......
There are NO Virginia "Big 3" schools. SSSA is generally regarded as TOO far for people who live in nrthern fairfax County and for many in north Arlington. Flint Hill is too far for many in the arlington or alexandria area. Look at maps. Fairfax County has TJ. Most common private school that is considered by parents of TJ type/capable students is STA. Also many Asians live in Fairfax County and TJ has a large percentage of Asian students.
