From this month's Southern Living.
http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/red-velvet-white-chocolate-cheesecake-50400000131819/ It looks so decadent but will be shared with many people. I can't wait. |
| We've always had Charlotte Russe (essentially chantilly cream and lady fingers) and ambrosia - NOT the kind with marshmallows. |
| Either coconut cream cake with pineapple coconut cream cheese frosting or red velvet cheesecake. Mmmm. |
+1 - We had it every Christmas growing up. |
|
Christmas eve we will offer a variety of things that tip a hat to our families' traditions:
-Cinnamon Bread pudding (which literally makes me smile as I type it) -an italian cake with pistachio cream -a variety of cookies, including pizzelles and shortbread and sugar cookies -"lumps of coal" and buckeyes There will surely be leftovers (even with the crowd expected). We'll use the leftovers for Christmas day and NYE. |
this looks good-we are having a NYE party, I think the kids and I will make this for that. Thx for sharing |
I think I will try this too! For the people with a Charlotte Russe tradition, what background do you have? I had never heard of this dessert until a New Zealander told me about it! Is it a southern US thing? Wish we had long standing dessert traditions. But maybe I will start one. |
| 20:44 here. My family is southern, yes. |
| Potica and strudel! |
|
Triple chocolate mousse cake:
|
| Tiramisu! It is the only element of the menu I've decided on. |
| Thanks pp for the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake link. I made it for a party at the house on Friday and it was so good, I made a second one for a party at a friends house on Saturday. Both were gone in minutes!!! |
