Because I'm still fat and I don't want to ruin the photo.

Same with us. Kids and the dogs are the only members who make the photo.

Ditto. Every year my husband and I say we are going to do family photo for the holiday card and it hasn't happened yet! From the cards we have gotten so far, only 2 of about 8 photo cards have pictures of the whole family in them. I love getting mail this time of year - so much more fun to get card than the usual bills and junk mail!

Because after 100 million tries at a good family photo, none came out very well!

I would not say we sneer, but certainly giggle at the people who do the matching outfits in front of the fireplace.

Or the matching white shirts and khakis photo from the beach!

I got one where the whole family was dressed in black turtlenecks against a black background. Looked like a bunch of floating heads.

For some reason photo cards was on that list of things I said I would never do BEFORE I became a parent. Ha. Now I love them and we do them. But I'm one who likes seeing a pic of the whole family together - not just the kids (well, of course I enjoy the kids ones too, but prefer the whole family). So, that's how we do ours.

I love the holiday photo cards - especially from friends and family who live far away. I hang them up every year - so it become part of the holiday decoration in the house.

I forget - was there a question in the original post?

--I normally send a photo of the children inside a card, but that is largely because I am sending lots of cards to people who live far away. It seems a bit odd to me to enclose a photo in a card to people whom we see frequently (in other words, they know what our kids look like, LOL) . What do other people do on that topic?

--Do you send a card to the families in your children's school classes?

--Do you send a card to your husband's boss (and/or your own)?

--Do you send cards to colleagues (in an office setting)? If so, to all of them or just the ones you are friendly with?

Thanks in advance!

Oops, I guess we haven't been answering the actual questions.

I send cards but only to friends and family. Not to the bosses, not to coworkers.

Guess again. I just find them irritating, perhaps because they make me feel slightly guilty for not sending any.

But the photos are useful as they sometimes provide a good basis for some mild sneering.

Can you post your name so I can ensure you are not on my list?
I often wonder who the snide posters are and pray they aren't someone I'm friendly with off-line!

Last year we got one and the kids (boys) had mullets.

If I had more time, I would do cards. I love getting cards. But 3 jobs, 3 kids...the cards never seem to get done. Phone calls, parties and e-cards will be my method of holiday greetings once again. I feel slightly bad about not mailing out cards, but then I again, I feel good that I'm saving trees. : )
