Small claims court - security deposit?

Thank you for the link! Very helpful even though we are in VA. We also thought the grout/windows were normal wear and tear but they disagreed. I've never heard of a landlord asking a tenant to clean the outside of the windows so it's good to hear that isn't normal.

We didn't really have a move-out inspection - our husbands did a quick walk-through and nothing was really shown to my husband. I asked for pictures of the windows because we were told they were ridiculously dirty but didn't receive any. I should add that the light pink color goes away (it was barely noticeable when we moved out) but it always comes back (and then is noticeable). This is why they felt they should get the grout professionally cleaned - but from what I read online about it, I think it will come back.
