Who Else Loves Pecan Pie?

I have really only had pecan pie a handful of times but for some strange reason have really been craving it. I usually make a an apple pie and a pumpkin cheesecake for tgiving but this year am making a pecan pie instead of pumpking cheesecake.

Would probably like it except I am so so so allergic to pecans, so it has never been on our table. Do be careful of the leftovers (if there are any). One year our neighbors decided that they had no room in the fridge, so put the pecan pie (and a few other things, I think) outside on their porch overnite. The squirrels had a happy Thanksgiving that year--ate all the nuts off the pie!

I use fresh cracked nuts and add honey to the recipe. Fresh cracked nuts make a big difference.

Hate pecan pie, SO sweet. Only thing worse is pecan chocolate. Love pumpkin or pumpkin cheesecake, cranberry jewel cake, and apple crumble pie. That's what's for Thanksgiving here!

Pecan pie is my favorite, but only made with maple syrup instead of corn syrup. The Cook's Illustrated recipe is great - soft custardy filling instead of sticky syrup.

I love, love, love pecan pie. I'm doing something different tomorrow and making German Chocolate Pecan Pie - pecans, chocolate chips and coconuts. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it.

Too sweet for me. I like fruit pies (apple and peach are my favorites, but strawberry rhubarb is good too), pumpkin pie.
