Building administrator is important. You have to feel supported and part of a team that's working with you if you're going to stay. You have to feel like you can make a difference for the kids. If you're just brow-beaten it's not worth it. Good building administrators--and PG does have them around-- make a huge difference.

It is not due to money. PG pays decent. Starting salary is about 48,000. Surrounding counties pay about the same if not a little less. It is due to lack of support and guidance from administration. Also lack of supplies and working conditions such as air conditioning/heat, cockroaches, mice, and mold.

PG pays decent but Montgomery pays better.

DC pays best, but you earn every penny of it with the administrative dysfunction and behaviors
