We just have the regular day china. Each kid got a special baby bowl and baby spoon, but once they were eating "people-food" they ate from the same dishes we use. Only if they are sick and eating in bed do we break out the baby bowl of yore.

My kids 6 and 4. We did the same, and they also use fork and knife with no problem already. It is all about how you teach them. Same thing my parents tought me from a very early age. No broken plates so far. My older eats very clean, the younger one is still working on keeping his space clean.

What is so great about Corelle? Seems like a lot of people use them for their kids....

We use some cheap IKEA plates and shot glasses for the kids. They haven't broken any of the plates, though they've run through a pack of shot glasses.

Corelle-lightweight, affordable and hopefully easily replaced if needed. Also does not scratched like my ikea plates did with first use.

I love the colors, but they're so heavy! (My wrists got ruined in pregnancy).
