Look OP, it is the saddest part of aging. Forget wrinkles, I just want my mind.
Anyway, wait till you forget your sons name when someone at work asks you. |

My group of 50-something women, all in menopause, is suffering from word retrieval, memory loss, senior moments, brain fog, whatever you want to call it. I think the loss of estrogen does this. Exercise seems to help, a lot of it, eating properly, getting enough sleep.
I lose words when I'm tired. I've lost a lot of nouns! People I know, even my best friend's name have disappeared momentarily. Yes they come back, but it's very scary. And it happens mostly when I'm VERY tired, which I am most of the time nowadays because now that I'm in menopause, I don't sleep much! Or well! I wake at 3 a.m., 4 a.m., 5 a.m., etc. Is anyone out there in her 60s who can tell us this levels out? Does your mind return? Does your health return or is it a long, downward slide? |
