Sports sports and more sports

My husband is a baseball fan, but at least he's not into any other sport, so I get a few months' break. I agree, it's not the sports themselves, it's the amount of time devoted to watching them and the fact that he can't even turn the TV off until our toddler goes to bed. There are over 100 games--you can't miss part of this one?

Men who are intensely interested in sports such as your husband are that way because they feel it is a safe place to express uninhibited passion. They can yell, scream, and it's OK, because it is normal. Men are passionate, at heart, and that is one way to let it out. For some reason, your husband feels he cannot be so passionate with you. That may have less to do with your mechanical sexual skills than with a lack of emotional connection he if feeling (whether he realizes it or not). You have to get in to his pysche that that will take words and facial expressions, not orgasms.

He doesn't yell or scream, he just likes watching. And how the hell can you possibly make this my fault for not communicating effectively? That might work for whomever is paying $225 an hour to sit in your office and listen to your bullshit rationalization but you don't know me, or my husband or our communication styles or our "Passion" or (as you claim) lack thereof. Generalize much?

Think God my DW loves sports. It was a total bonding experience when we were dating. I think our first child was conceived during half time of the Navy - Notre Dame game in 1998! We never have boring times together and we never run it if things to talk about because we an always talk about sports. Also, my DW was a basketball player in college and we will play a little one - on - one in the driveway. She trash talk like Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes in "White Men Csn't Jump." We involve our kids in our play too! We love going together as a family to baseball games and each year our extended family gathers to tailgate and attend the Army - Navy game. We don't need to "workout" at the gym because our passion to play games keeps us fit. And that little driveway one-on-one often leads to a little bedroom one-on-one. I love the smell of DW's sweat. It is such a turn on! And it sure bears shopping!

This has to be one of the funniest posts I've ever read on this forum.

When I was younger (mid 40s now) my passion for my various sports teams was much more important to me than now. I don't know if that is normal, or unusual. As my kids became involved in youth sports, I found that I had much less time and interest in watching a team on TV. I still follow those teams by reading the internet, but I feel less compelled to watch them every time they happen to be on TV.

For me, I have always been the kind of sports fan that prefers to watch my own favorite team, rather than some random game. I am a die hard UNC Basketball fan. So, I would not be one to watch Kentucky play UConn, even if both were top ten schools. So that would be another limiting factor for me. Maybe you can convince DH to focus on HIS teams in that way. Also, I succeeded in totally turning my wife into a fan of my favorite MLB team.

Maybe, like me, your DH will age out of this similarly.
