| Her first library card ...and taylor swift CDs |

My kid is getting:
A small decorative sculpture for her room (that she chose) A calendar that features her favorite animal A crystal figurine of her favorite animal A special tea cup she saw and wanted a few months ago Comfy hoodie and matching sweat pants to wear after swimming A pair of sterling silver earrings A book A poster customized with her name on it (Etsy) Nothing very expensive, one gift per night of Hanukah! |
|
Rainbow Loom if she doesn't have one already.
BTW my kids LOVED their American Girl dolls and played with them all the time. One had Josephina and one had Rebecca. (They had the books on those characters before) Getting the accessories, or having the relatives get the accessories, at various times, added to the fun. Then one wanted the Hawaiian girl doll (which was only around for a year, and one wanted Kaya) The second that they had two, they slowed, then stopped, playing with them. I think it blew the special nature and special relationship with the doll. |

| Mine wants a Kindle Fire. (I don't think she's getting one.) |
| A Zoomer |
| A furby, origami kit, shrinky dink jewelry making set, a set to make crystals, fuzzy slippers, ipod touch, a mermaid tale to wear swimming, clothes for her american girl doll. |
| I am getting mine the Guiness Book of World Records book - she took an old one out of the library and can't get enough of the pictures! |
Seconding this. I've heard about this thing non-stop. And Monster High dolls and things. |
|
she is getting her ears pierced and a blanket (fur like thing) for her room.

Fuc& off you two! Some people like to be surprised. Just because there isn't something in special they want, it doesn't mean they don't want gifts. |
The dog that is $100+? (I googled and that's my only guess as to what you are talking about.) |
That's the one (although I've seen it for $80). |
Think twice about this. A friend bought her four year old one and regrets it. They have child-proofed them so much as to be ridiculous. Friend said she was surprised how many people were selling their EB ovens on Craigslist till she bought one. It's your call, of course, but at 8, she might be ready for real cooking supplies. My 9.5 year old makes cookies and muffins with supervision. |

My 8-year-old wants the Ever After High dolls. She has Monster High and *never* plays with them, so maybe I'll get her one doll and see if this any different. Her American Girl doll and Barbies are also ignored.
But give the girl a little notebook or some post-its and she's in heaven. Or any of that non-clothing crap from Justice. Loves all of it. |
