Never buy a house with a yard (or driveway in this case) that slopes down toward it!

It's a nice area and with expensive homes. The road is not very busy, however, Rockville Pike on the east and Old Georgetown Road on the west can get quite congested during rush hours.
To me, it feels like you have to drive everywhere because there aren't alot of people walking there but there is a is a bike path near the southern part of that neighborhood. And you can walk to the shopping center with a few restaurants and Balducci's for groceries.

I don't like having the garage in the basement, wtf did they do that for? The lot is flat.

the lot is like 200000 feet deep, there was plenty of space to go back. Basement garage sucks

Kind of an unfortunate exterior design, although the interior is lovely. Street isn't that busy, that wouldn't concern me. Clearly about $200k overpriced, otherwise it would have sold by now. Agree that $1.4 is a lot to pay for Rockville.

I agree that the line between Bethesda and Rockville has become very blurry, that house is in 20814, so inarguably is in Bethesda.

It's not like it's in the heart of Rockville. Much closer to Bethesda actually. And WJ cluster, which is excellent.

OP Here - thanks everyone, this has been largely very helpful.

No doubt it's outside the beltway (though barely), but it's closer to metro than some of the inside the beltway Bethesa neighborhoods (e.g., Ayrlawn Park area -- which is also quite nice).

We don't love the garage in the basement - though it's not the end of the world to park at the top of the driveway to bring in groceries. And as long as there is sufficient drainage, there should not be flooding problems.

Any additional thoughts on the neighborhood or the house are always appreciated.

i live in the neighborhood. i visited that house and it is really beautiful. we go frequently to the park and agree that there is a lot of back and forth walking etc in the neighborhood. it is not a super-tight neighborhood like i hear other areas are (e.g. no block parties) but it is a very nice, comfortable, and friendly area. there is another playground/fields at the school across the street too. walkable to metro and to wildwood. and to pp, it is a 20814 zip code, which is def not rockville. neighborhood is very convenient and neighbors are down to earth and friendly. bonus is the grosvenor is a high priority street for plowing in the winter.
