Another vote for Neosporin, and wash off before feeding. Healed in a day or two and made nursing much more enjoyable for everyone involved. |

I am going to try all these suggestions. For today, I will do the 24 hr pump only and coconut oil. Will also ask ob for APNO. I am desperate enough to have considered neosporin but was afraid it won't clean out well. I was an EPer with first one but this baby is doing well at breast so I am a little bummed at having to hit this road block. When I venture to give the bad nipple, I just love how well baby empties out this breast. |
PP here about moist heat. I nursed three babies each for about a year. With my first, I told my lactation consultant that the hospital grade pump I rented wasn't emptying my breast and I wasn't having much success with pumping - my breasts were still full after pump attempts. She told me that no pump is as effective as a nursing baby. I always remembered that and remained in awe of my amazing newborn - can't beat Mother Nature! |
