Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers

I think that your child would be fine in either situation, so these are are factors that I would consider to help you make the decision:
1. Cost - go with the cheaper option. Also, if you are planning a second child factor in that into the cost equation as well - does your center accept infants as well, how much additional expense compared to giving the nanny a raise. 2. Flexibility - Will you or your partner be able to get your child at 5:30pm everyday, if not stick with the nanny 3. Location - how long of a commute will your child have to endure, if more than an hour I would stick with the nanny. 4. Outplacement - at what age does your child "graduate" from the center? If the child is not able to stay there until he is ready for either public or private Pre-K or K I would stick with the nanny. Good Luck with your decision. |
| i was just in your situation yesterday with my 14 month old. I chose the day care. I went and spend an hour today in the room he would be in and he loved it so i signed him up. i went with my gut as my child is always happier in groups. |
