I don't think it was diminished with him older. I just think that ender's cold statement was one of the most inappropriate thing for a seven year old in the whole movie. |
It is rated PG-13 for a reason. 12yr old, maybe but a 7 year old??? They should be watching Disney movies.
I didn't see anyone that age in the theater when we went and would be shocked if we did. |
My 8 year old loved it. No trauma. |
Yes why not.
My SIL and I took all our kids ages 6,7,9 &12 We all loved it |
My 8 year old loved the book but I was wondering the same thing. |
Agreed. Because what second grader doesn't need a good strong dose of violent dystopia to round out his/her week? Sorry, OP, you sound like a thoughtful person, but no, stream the Incredibles or Wallace and Grommit for your 7-year-old instead. |
+1 If you really step back and think about it, no child should be seeing a movie like this. I think people get the idea that a kid is in it so it is fid friendly. But it is not G or PG and certainly not kid-friendly. I can't imagine if you let 7yr olds watch teen movies, what they will be watching as 13yr old. Slasher/sex movies?? |
A lot of that is actually cut from the movie. I just saw it last night and they had to cut out much of those subtle plot points and entire side plots are not in the movie (most all of Peter and Valentine are cut out, Peter is in it for about 2 minutes total) |
