Educate yourself, lady. |
You probably have a fallout shelter, too. |
|
Listen to your body. If the new car smell bothers you either open a window or (if possible) wait until you are past the first trimester to buy the car.
|
| Not as bad as smoking a pack a day, but not as good as eating plenty of protein and fresh veggies every day. If you need a new car right now,buy it and keep the windows cracked open. If you can wait, then wait. |
|
People worry about the weirdest things.
And if it is a concern, what difference does it make if you buy the car when you're pregnant or have a newborn who will be riding in the car? |
It would seem to me that a newborn is somewhat more completely formed than your average fetus. Your opinion on this may vary. OP, this link http://www.cartalk.com/content/your-car-toxic-3 is an interview with the Car Talk guys and Jeff Gearhart with the Ecology Center. Naysaying posters speaking from a place of deep unawareness might especially get something out of reading this. |
| People are so rude. It is classic off gassing. Not great, not going to cause major damage. You have to pick your battle on which is better, now or later. We got a new foam mattress in the first tri thats tunk to high heaven and I just dealt with it and slept elsewhere for a few days bc we really really needed a new mattress. |
| I heard many people die from it. |
| You could also buy a fairly new used car that will have already off gassed. That is probably what I would do in your shoes. |
| Are you the same person who was worried when the lightbulb broke at your office? |
I bet it is. Sounds like a nut case. |
Ugh, OP, ignore these people who are not aware that some chemicals should be avoided when you are pregnant. |
