There are a lot of things I don't like that I don't consider "vulgar." She clearly just had a bad attitude about the dish.

(That is, her point seemed to be more that it was low class and vile, as opposed to not to her liking. And if that's what she meant, I don't think she's familiar with the range of options that can be considered bread pudding. French Laundry prepared bread pudding as one of their Bocuse d'or dishes, for example.)
