best academic school among these...?

None of the other schools mentioned even come close to St Patrick's by any measure: academics, outplacement, families, teachers, administration, endowment, status of current graduates...

Every so often a very insecure St. Pat's booster pipes up by saying that "no one else is close" to St. Pat's in any way. It's such a ridiculous thing to say.

I know St Pat's better than most, and it's a great school. But how can you possibly be familiar enough with every other school (families, teachers, administration, academics) to presume such a thing?

I think that this person is just bitter that St Pat's never ranks among the top schools. By talking up the school at every possible opportunity, they're trying to improve the school's standing. Good luck with that.

Why attack the St. Pat's booster when the same "that said" Norwood booster has posted multiple times on this thread already and will likely return very soon after this post.

That said, I think MoCo public schools are more advanced in reading and math in the lower grades than the private schools. Private schools offer a more well-rounded curriculum - including more music, P.E., and art. I think a lot of the "boosters" on these boards think their schools offer the best mix of everything and are very happy with that particular academic mix. If you are interested in the most academically challenging reading and/or math programs at the schools you listed, then I'd group Norwood, St. Pat's, and WES above the others.

Exactly what ranking are you talking about? I have never seen a ranking of the area's private schools. Would you please post a link to the rankings?

I hope you don't mean just the continual use of the terms "big 3" or "top 3" on this site. That is surely not a ranking. In fact, some of the worst boosters are from those schools.

You make some odd assumptions. I am willing to bet that more than one poster is a proponent of St Patricks as well as every other school on the forum.

I made the assumption that it's the same obnoxious St. Pat's poster because she uses almost identical language every time. No other school "even comes close" to St. Pat's. It's weird because the boosters of the top schools don't usually claim that.

I think some of us know the St. Patrick's booster: S***n

Why do you think you know who the poster is? I thought posts were anonymous here. Do the administrators take part in the discussions?

Because she uses the same language in person as she does on DCUM.

Is this a private feud taking place in public? Perhaps this should be taken offline? This doesn't seem fair to "satan"

From a different forum...

I hope that I can post a few thoughts without being nastily labelled a booster as has happened on some other threads recently.

People who post detailed, balanced feedback are rarely if ever accused of boosterism. It's the low-information, high-enthusiasm, sometimes high-snootiness posts like 17:59's that quite reasonably give rise to the charge.

Your post is equally lacking in objectivity.
