DoD returning to work - can someone answer questions for me?

Anonymous
OP here - turns out we aren't essential, but my boss "fought" to have us have to return to the office - there are no other civilians are in.

That said, how they are understanding it is that if I have to take leave, it's considered a furlough and they issue another furlough notice. Which, they understand, is still going to be due back pay.

So....that's what I know now. And not sure how right it is.

18:14 here. Were you called back under the Pay Our Military Act? I was, and the guidance I received today is that everything is back to "normal" now I.e. if I am going to be out of the office I need to take leave. If you were called back on some other basis then I think it would be another furlough.

Op here: I received the same guidance. Oh well! It is very odd, the justification for my office, but that's life!

Also, we were told normal pay on the 25th (with unknown info re Columbus Day) which is counter to what I heard on the news. I guess we'll see. My husband is already working for no pay. Morale is so low it is actually funny at this point.

Over 90 percent of DoD was called back. If you need to take leave, you take leave.

Op here: this I know now but there was no guidance for us until about 3pm today. There is still no clear guidance on how to code the hours correctly
