Do they give all these tests then? |
Reason I'm asking is cause my DC can decode and speaks with fluency at a high level, but comprehends and writes at a much lower level. I'm curious how DC will be tested in reading. |
PP, depends what level your daughter is at. The amount of comprehension and writing seems to increase they higher you go. My son could read very long chapter books going into K but it took until partway through 2nd before he could write anywhere near close to testing to that reading level. |

Also, after 16 (when the turn to letters), the children are required to pass a writing component in addition to the reading. Lots of children can master the 16 (end of year benchmark for 1st) early, but the writing piece takes a while so they get stuck. An "N" at the beginning of first means your child is already passing the writing piece which is really impressive for that age. |
