This is why people buy in ashburn, you would die for a home like this in arlington

Um, to be able to live in a larger, newer home without paying over a million dollars, that's why. Also, some people actually like the exurbs, although I understand that's not exactly urban. Heck, many parts of NW DC aren't exactly urban either.

At least that one can be fixed to look nice. The other one is in ashburn. Where the fuck is that? God knows. [/quote

Ashburn is on the border with West Virginia, I think. Right?

OP, are you serious? Aside from looking like it was built on the cheap, the exterior of that house is hideous. I'm not a fan of the Home Depot floors and finishing touches either.

Is this a fucking joke? God-is that one ugly-ass house . The faux mixed media. That thing could be in any horrid suburb of America. It looks like a million other shitty new builds. I am sure every other home in the neighborhood is identical as well. Be careful you might turn into the wrong driveway.

That is my idea of a personal hell.

I prefer my neighborhood of mature trees and gorgeous 1920/1930s homes.

No, nitwit.

I think the house is actually beautiful and it would feel fun living there all new. But I do not like the bare development look of these new builds with dotted houses in a field. It makes me sad somehow. I also do not really like Ashburn. Just a smidge too far out.

And I'm very surprised that it is "only" $650K. I seriously thought McMansions in the exurbs were still in the 800s or so. They used to be, right?

regardless of what the A'burn house is, I would die because I had to drive to fuckin' Ashburn to get to it every day, and then I'd be stuck in Ashburn living in it.

No thanks.

p.s. it is a thoroughly plain and undistinguished house, if it floats your boat, great, but no thanks ....

I could sell my n Arlington rambler and buy two! But I won't.

Well, to be fair, the house in Arlington is just hideous too, with the horrible addition.

Why can't people who think small houses are the bomb just live small without the nasty vinyl-clad additions?

If you moved the ashburn house to Arlington everyone would sing to the high heavens how great it is. Face it you you have to settle with that gross outdated crap for the location

Anonymous wrote:23:49 here - I don't live in Arlington. I also can't afford $650K for a house. I don't live in a crammed bungalow, though. I also don't live in a McMansion.

I honestly don't even "aspire" to a house like this, though. I truly don't like it. I don't care WHERE it is. I don't think it is attractive.

I have friends that live in similarly sized homes in Ashburn. I don't actually like their homes, either. I don't find them as unattractive as this one, but there is something about the style of these homes that is unappealing to me.

There is one catch: You have to live in Ashburn.
