RANT-my boss complains about being broke all the time (he makes over $1m a year)

When I was 23 and working at my first job after college, my boss complained that both of his kids got married and had to pay for their wedding, he complained about the cost of their college, and then he bought a brand new BMW and came and showed it to all of us.

I still to this do not know why he complained to me about those things.

some people just DON'T get it. I guess it comes down to empathy? or lack there of? Someone making $1 mill should never complain about money to someone making $55k (I assume your boss knows how much you make).

I suppose it is similar to the young person bitching about being old to an older person, or the skinny person calling themselves fat to a fat person... they are just thinking about themselves and not putting themselves in the other persons shoes to think of how they would feel in comparison

That $1 million, is it what the business takes it or is it actually a salary? If its waht the business takes in, the business has expenses and obligations that are not his alone, like your own 55k salary.
