+3 Overpriced and tasteless |
| "Amy's" has a frozen absolutely delicious bean and cheese burrito. It heats up in 1-2 minutes. |
| I like the evol bowls, too. |
| TJ taquitoes and TJ coconut shrimp. serve with big salad |
+3 and expensive. |
+1 on chipotle. We usually buy one burrito and split it for dinner. Delicious and probably the cheapest meal in town. |
| The big problem in prepared foods is sodium. Whole Foods tends not to over-salt their prepared stuff, which is why it tastes bland. |
I am really not trying to hate here, but I don't get this. Instead of getting a burrito with no cheese or sour cream, you eat half a burrito bowl, a tortilla, avocado, chips, and corn? And the second option is healthier? |
| Kashi or Amy's makes some pretty good, fairly nutritious frozen means. I'll often pick up something yummy from the frozen section at Trader Joe's, but bulk it up with way more veggies (always keep a bunch of frozen veggies in the fridge). Spreads it out more, and adds some good healthy bulk. |
She eats it as 3 meals. |
| I like the Trader Joe's carnitas (pork). We make our own burrito bowls- add letuce, salsa, homemade guac, brown rice, cheese/sour cream. etc. One piece is enough for 3 people usually with some left over. |
Ok then, so she eats a third a burrito bowl, a tortilla, avocado, chips, and corn. I'm still not sure overall that there is much of a calorie or nutrient advantage, if any, to her meal over the straight up burrito. I'm confident she would be better off just eating the entire burrito bowl as one meal. Again, I'm cool if she just prefers her way and thinks it makes for a more enjoyable meal. And I love me some Chipotle. It just seems like a lot of effort for very little if any return if you are doing it solely for health. |
