What school is that?

Irony alert!

Really? OK. ... For many of these, I can't tell which are real versus which are made-up snark.

The first week included a new school year event attended by parents. It brought out all of my insecurities - I'm not pretty enough and am about 20 pds overweight, my husband dresses like a slob and has an unimportant job, we live in the "wrong part" of town (i.e., not Bethesda or NW), etc., etc.. My therapist will have a very busy fall.

I ask this sincerely: do you honestly not understand what irony is? Or, is the problem that you're still 12 and can therefore be forgiven because you understandably haven't explored this concept in school yet?

The abbreviation for pounds is lbs.

I ask this sincerely: do you honestly not understand what "sincerity" is? Because your post sounds very disingenuous (look it up).

PS, Unlike you, I appreciate the effort of the tongue-in-cheek posters here. Sometimes the private school forum seems overrun with self-importance, naïveté (your experience after 3 days is meaningful?) and hot air, so that a little levity (look it up) is a welcome break.

How, exactly, did you feel?

My kid loved her first week, said kids, teachers were amazing and actually said she wished she could go to school on the weekend!
