Recommendations for therapist, meds for anxiety

If possible, please avoid medication. Those that work hook you for life and ruin your life. Few if any ever get off them. Others are as effective as sugar pills. You're doing great by sharing. Perhaps support groups and talk therapy. But it sounds like you've got enough self-awareness already to be regaining proper perspective on your life. I just ran into yet another friend I hadn't seen in years who was turned into a virtual shadow of herself because of these meds.

Just stop! Not seeking appropriate help (and yes medication can be appropriate) can ruin your life.

Really irresponsible advice from this PP. If you are under the care of a responsible physician, and you have a true need for medication, it can change your life for the better, and certainly will not ruin your life.

I've seen from $170 to $210. An it is really for 45 or 50 minutes, not an hour.

$160 or $170 for 45 minutes. With CBT, you should be able to to what you need to do in less than 10 sessions.
