Admitedly, I am a fan of Reiter & Hill, and have been for years... but geeze, OP, you sound like a real PITA patient.

+1. I think low-drama patients do well there.

OP here. Actually, I'm a really low-needs patient. I had an epidural for my first and don't particularly care about the whole "birth experience" (fine for those who do), don't have a million question, don't need my hand held, etc. I just want to be called when I'm waiting for test results!!! And not have a rude sonographer.

I find that DC office tends to get the most complaints. I used the one in Friendship Heights and couldn't complain - could always get appointments, pretty much never late etc. But I am sorry you had a bad time with them.

That practice was extremely compassionate after I had some difficult losses.

I left at 24 weeks at started with GWU. Dr. Larsen rocked. He handed me his card and said his cell hone number was on the back and to call about anything. Is was so refreshing after waiting an eternity to have a doctor or nurse call me back from RH. Op find better care.

If these are your complaints then stay away from Foxhall. They never call back when they say they will be calling with test results and after having to hound them for days only to finally get ahold of a rude and incompetent nurse, I switched to the GE midwives and am sooo much happier. Admittedly not the practice for everyone but the GW OBs may be a good bet.

I drive all the way to Foxhall, the first time they called me with results same day...I was shocked.

I see Dr Sheth in Bethesda.
The office is brand spankin new.
The doctors are fabulous. (Larson, Sheth, Marko and Kotak)
Actually haven't met with Kotak but heard good things.
The office is staff is wonderful and even remembers dc1's name.
"No news is not good news." My doctor always always calls with results.
And, wait for it...you can email her.

Their downtown office is not far from CWC's downtown office and so far I have been really happy there. Yes, it's a big practice and the front office women aren't always super excited to see me () but they do answer questions and handle everything just fine and I've been really happy with communication from my doctor.

I"m sorry, but I still think you are being overly sensitive.

So you had to call back a few times for test results. Big deal. They are not sitting around all day, waiting to reach you, their one patient of the hour. And I question whether this sonographer was really "rude" or just brusque, factual, and trying to stay on schedule for a very busy day. They don't have time for chit chat and it is not their job to make you feel happy.

Uh ok. She was the one who breezed in saying, "so why are you here today?" DH and I looked at each other like, huh? Aren't you supposed to know that? I'm not looking for chit chat either, just competence.

And if they can't get the NT results in the time frame that their own employees tell patients (she told me twice that I would have results by the end of the day).... then don't tell me that!

GW Medical Faculty associates is right near the Foggy Bottom metro and they just opened an office in Bethesda that is also near the metro. Not sure why you think RH is the only centrally located practice.

This is exactly what I mean, OP! You ARE a PITA if you expect every person that you encounter at a health care practice to be up on your issues, 100%. No, s/he most likely did NOT know exactly why you needed a sonogram, all the details. I bet the sonographer actually looked at your chart and quickly figured it out, though, before proceeding. "Hi, good morning, what brings you here today" is a very standard line by many doctors/ health care providers. Do you think they actually sit around and study up on your case, before you show up? And by the way, if this is what you're expecting from doctors, you have a big shock ahead in dealing with pediatricians.

Me too. My experiences after 12 years and 2 kids have been pretty positive.
