Madison Day School?

Sounds like a St. Anthony's rip off. They mention following NAEYC curriculum, but are they NAEYC certified? Methinks not....

PP- you must have meant Madison. St Anthony's is NAEYC accredited program (http://www.naeyc.org/academy/accreditation/search)

The Madison Day School website looks chock full of stock photos.

Madison Day school has been open nearly a year ;does anyone have any experience with them? I toured the facility and it seems very nice but I was hoping to get some additional reviews.

Bump. Any reviews?

It gets really positive feedback from the families actually enrolled there on Old Town Moms - maybe ask there to get more replies?

we toured recently and owner seems very straightforward & engaged, knew every child's name. We have heard good things from those who have kids enrolled. seems to be growing and improving. yes its new and don't think they are NYAEC certified but do use the curriculum.

to whoever didn't want to come b/c of the owner's accent, his english is just fine! oy

I agree. The way some posters are comparing Madison to other schools and know the teachers' work history make me think a bitter former employer is just giving them a hard time on here. Everything said on the neighborhood listserve is glowing about Madison.

I'm the PP who asked about the director moving from one daycare to another, not a bitter former employer. You have to take into account those comments were made over a year ago, when Madison Day was still fairly new and not much info was around. There was a lot of buzz on the listserv about that director leaving the first daycare, so I was trying to find out more info. Sounds like it's a better fit for her at Madison Day. I stand by my comments about the tuition vis-a-vis the more established daycares in the area, but agree that I've only heard positive reviews on the OTM listserv (and also agree the PP's comment about the owner's accent was unhelpful).

Thanks for the clarifications PP (13:05 here - soon to be first parent checking out the scene for the first time). Do you have a child at Madison? So far we've only heard good reviews. Re: the director - I am completely forgetting her name but I thought it was co-owned by her and her husband. We met both on the tour. He (Ryan?) said his wife had many (30?) years of early childhood experience. The one parent we know who has a child here said her daughter loves her.

Not a rip off. My son was there for 4 years and our experience was wonderful, I had not one complaint during the time he spent there. Fabulous environment, engaging director, dedicated teachers/caretakers and the facility/location couldn't be better. And it is NAEYC accredited. I believe SADS is still the best daycare in Alexandria, I mean it does have a 2 year wait list. While my son was there, the waitliest had over 1,000 children. I think that says a lot.....

No, my child isn't there. We ended up going with a daycare near work instead, after starting at another daycare in Old Town. Stephanie is the name of the director I was talking about. I don't know if she is still there. And, yes, the owner's wife was a lead teacher at the same Old Town daycare where Stephanie was director previously. Good luck!

Chill. You misread. PP is saying Madison Day School, the topic of this thread, is a rip off of St. Anthony's, not that St. Anthony's is a rip off.

We love Madison. We have sent our child only since July. But based on that short experience, we love the attention, the patience, the dedication, the activities, the curriculum, the staff, the keeping informed, the attention to security, etc.

Madison Day Care is absolutely amazing! The attention to detail is wonderful. My son is well taken care of on all fronts - fed, changed, etc. I was so nervous about having my child start daycare but the teachers and directors made the process pleasant, supportive, and awesome! Spanish speaking is an added bonus
