School supplies mini vent--yes, a vent

Anonymous
I feel for the teachers who have small classrooms and have to store 30 Clorox wipes, tissues, etc. would rather we each contribute to a school supply fund so teacher can order when and what she/he wants. I usually end up sending in basics like pencils for my kids in addition to the communal supplies. The kits through the PTA are expensive!

I couldn't find the supply list for our school so I called the school and they said to look under the PTA section of their website because they weren't able to upload the info but the PTA could. Why would I have thought to look there? Its not so big a deal - except there has been a lot of confusion about everything so far... (DD is starting K). I think maybe it gets easier once you've been at the school a while and know the ropes. I know a lot of K moms feeling the same way.

Another K mom here- our school has one list but I agree about learning the ropes.
Someone criticized me for not getting this info at orientation even though it was never brought up.

I fondly remember being a K mom with my first. Before the year started, I thought the school was being run by a bunch of incompetent idiots. Some were, of course. But what I learned that year and with the 3 children that followed is that stuff like supplies tends to work out. Some you will need, some the kid will barely use and some you will need to get more of.

You will figure things out pretty quickly.

GL to you and your DC's.
