Sarah ignores history

OP again. I agree that it would have saved everyone a lot of trouble if the doctor's statement had come immediately. However, I don't see the rumor as "hideous". Thinking that a mother would try to protect her pregnant daughter is certainly not an insult to the mother, and thinking that a seventeen year old girl might be pregnant is just a recognition of a reality that has been proved countless times before Bristol's example.

Between Sarah's weird night-before journey and Bristol's withdrawal from school, though, I confess I'm still a bit befuddled.

Maybe I can help. Bristol got pregnant in March. Trig was born in April, to Sarah. Just suppose for a minute Sarah found out Bristol was pregnant (playing thep orcelain tuba perhaps every AM) and yanked her butt back home...

I too think the rumor was awful - and clearly started and repeated by people who could not do the basic mathematics of pregnancy.

I've always been skeptical of Palin's labor with Trig story. Not that she is Trig's mother. But skeptical that she was leaking amniotic fluid for over 24 hours, contracting, giving a speech, flying back to Alaska, driving all the way to the hospital, and then having Trig. To me, it always struck me as an embellished story to bolster Palin's claim to being this ultra-tough pioneer-type woman.

I know, I know. Just let her fade away. (I swear this is one of only a few comments I have made about Palin entire time).

OP again. I'd like to thank you for that posting, since it showed me that I was not using much imagination. I thought the choice was between believing that strange eve-of-birth tale and believing that the doctor is lying. But the possibility that Palin is exaggerating strikes me as much easier to accept.

I'll never know the truth, and other than morbid curiosity, there is no reason I should care. But that third possibility makes it easier for me to shut the book.

It wouldn't have been started because she wouldn't have been McCain's running mate.

Thank you for stating the truth.

Wow, in the last primary season, Bush supporters started a rumor that his child was not adopted, but instead was the child he had with a black prostitute. Isn't that EXACTLY the same thing? I don't think these rumors are acceptable. But Palin is by far not the first person to be put through this.

PP here. I meant to say McCain's child...

OP, this thread is odd to me.

I am not a Palin fan, but come on. I would REFUSE to prove that any of my children is "mine". They are mine because I call them mine.
Second, know your biology. Bristol was 5 months pregnant when Trig was 4 months old.
Third, teens RARELY give birth to Down's Syndrome babies.
Last, it is an insult to any woman to ask for the information that you mentioned in your OP.
When we start doing DNA testing on all of Obama's, McCain's, and Biden's children, then maybe we can talk.

Get on with your life.

OP here. Getting on with my life is a good idea.
