| I always love Rosemary's Thyme Bistro. You can sit outside, happy hour seven days a week, and a huge menu. |
| Founding Farmers or Farmers, Fishers, Bakers |
| This isn't a fancy place, but might be fun to keep it on your list since it would offer something for all ages.....Comet Ping Pong for pizza and then head down the block to Politics and Prose Bookstore and coffee shop for book browsing and dessert. |
| Boundary Stone and Rustik are great with kids and the food is really good. Sit outside at Rustik |
I wouldn't take my kid to these places. |

Kushi - overpriced as in Tokyo prices for sub par Tokyo quality food, but probably the right vibe you're looking for and they are very accommodating for kids. Crayons and paper to draw with last time we were there though it's been a while. Small plate style is especially good for kids. Poor service actually benefits families with kids too since it more often than not results in all food being brought to table at once rather than spacing as it should be, but results in a much longer meal time.
Mintwood - Pretty trendy place located in Adams Morgan so they can also go out to one of the bars after dinner. Also has a kids menu. Just won best new restaurant in the RAMW's annual awards. Zaytinya - Again, small plates so good for kids. As mentioned earlier, busy setting means kids won't be noticed as a problem if they do get fussy. Jaleo - Same as Zaytinya, though we now go to the location in Bethesda more often than downtown. |
