Cheap Make-up?

I use Cover Girl lipstick and mascara - or L'Oreal mascara. But no luck with any lipsticks. I love Chanel and Vincent Longo

Good to know! Their eyes shadows are so good that I've switched permanently to Rimmel.

I LOVE the Physicians Formula skin care products (particularly moisturizer and eye cream), which is a Wal-Mart brand. Someone told me that they are discontinuing this, however. Has anyone else heard that, or had trouble finding?

Check out Paula Begoun's website, Cosmetics Cop, for the real lowdown on department store vs. drugstore brands. You'll be surprised-expensive doesn't always mean better. For instance, a PP mentioned that Lancome and L'oreal are owned by the same company. Apparently L'oreal makes some pretty great mascaras that compare with highly rated Lancome formulas for about half the price.

+1 I like that brand also. I do not feel so much like I am spreading money on my face.

Anonymous wrote:Nars lipstick is amazing. It's not drugstore makeup (I buy mine from Sephora) and they run about $22 a piece. Well worth it in my opinion. The pigment is amazing and the color is long lasting.

I love Nars gloss! Saw an amazing red in InStyle last fall and went to Sephora to purchase. The brush threw me for a loop (I'm used to a wand unless I'm using a lip brush), but I got used to it quickly. The color is rich, there's no smell and it goes on amazing. Stays on, too!

This one, Glam Eyes in the pink tube! They have it at Target. It goes on smoothly, never clumps, is a rich black and doesn't flake off during the day. It is not waterproof but fairly durable. Comes right off at night with water.

I have tried so many expensive mascaras and this one beats them all hands down. A make up artist at the Bobbi Brown counter told me about it.

Paula's Choice skincare line is awesome and inexpensive. My two sisters and mom are all now converts after trying mine.

The best pressed powder I ever used is the loreal true match, it's truly a perfect match and very lightweight. Been using it for years.

I use Covergirl tinted moisturizer which I like and other products based on what's on sale or looks good.

The only dept. store one I buy is Clinique's creme blush stick because I love the texture/application, although I have been searching for a drug store replacement!
