OP here -
I'm torn because I love the convenience of depositing checks by taking a picture of it. Our bank is very large but they are not on the east coast, hence the convenience of mobile banking. I've been doing online banking for about 10yrs already, never had a problem.
And no, I'm not about to close my account and move my money to a DC area bank. that would be a major, major inconvenience.

I deposit my checks by mail. Sure, it takes about 3 days versus over the phone, but it's not too bad.

As for check depositing, the risk is more to the person who writes the check, not you, since that has their details.
