I'm the poster that suggested the BM Agave green. I got the idea by taking the floor color and looking at a color wheel - green is the opposite:

That kitchen is desperately in need of some contrast. I would try something like this:
Or maybe try painting the cabinets a nice cream color:

Contrast colors really looks Awesome, Try having a combination of ocean Green/dark green It really looks great in kitchen.
OP again. I agree with everyone who says the kitchen needs contrast. That is really my biggest problem with it. It all just sort of blends together. DH suggested a sage green last night, so it looks like he is on board with some color in this room.
I am the poster who suggested a blue, because the floors are essentially orange, and the complement of that is Blue, not green, not sure how this poster came up with green. But if you don't like blue or green, then match something in the counter and make it lighter. |
I love the suggested blues but still think a soft green would also complement the tile floors and cabinets.
We have similar colors in our kitchen and went with gold for the walls. I think it looks fabulous. Sort of a mustardy color.

I think yellow is a terrible idea. Definitely blues or greens. Maybe a pale slate blue like a PP suggested.

I'd paint the cabinets to truly update the look.
