If you're having this test, learn the freaking name! I get one every 6 months to a year for the same reason as OP, and it's a bit worrisome but overall no biggie. At some point most people return to normal and don't have to keep doing this (or they can lay off it for a while).

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE GET SOME Benzodiazepines!

OP-my sister in law has HPV has had a cone biopsy and other procedures. She says everything ends up being not such a big deal. The key is you are under the watchful eye of your docs and they will manage this for you.

Cervical cancer is not a rapidly growing cancer as you probably know, so while The Big C sounds scary, putting it into perspective, its entirely treatable and as long as you treat it properly it will not be a threat to your health or your life.

Hang in there and good luck with everything- you'll get through all the procedures. You've had a baby, so you are strong! It will be OK! Just do what the docw say, and in between things distract yourself with your precious toddler!!

I was vaccinated when Gardasil first came out and had a colposcopy and am now having a LEEP, so don't count on Gardasil being your saving grace.

As a single mom of a toddler spelling the freaking name was the least of my worries. Thx.

It isn't the spelling that's the issue. It's learning the correct name for the procedure. Don't ask an OB/GYN for colonoscopy results unless you want to sound uninformed. If you don't know what it's called - or can't remember what it's called - say "I had a procedure done for ____. It sounded something like 'colonoscopy' but I know that wasn't the term. What was the name again?"

Shut up mom. You talk too much.

Wow, isn't PP pleasant?

I'm sorry to hear about your situation - I think it makes sense to come to this site for support, but please don't rely on it as medical advice. Go with what your own doc tells you!

I think that is the biggest danger with the vaccine: it gives girls a false sense of security. Seriously, it's far more important to teach girls to insist on condom usage.

Both were uncomfortable, but manageable.
I had to have Pap smears 4x a year at first, then went to once a year. I have had normal paps for over a decade and I am HPV free now.
Best wishes.

Same here.

And the boys! Where do you think the girls get it from?

And preteen BOYS as well because HPV can give them throat cancer via oral sex.

Don't agree. Didn't get vaccinated, nothing gave me false sense of security, still didn't use enough condoms.Vaccinate your girls! Young people hardly ever listen.Even if she does, he doesn't.

If you've read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks you'll understand that cervical cancer can progress rapidly. This depends on a number of different factors.
