Busboys. It's more casual. The Jose Andres restaurants are a little datey. My DH took an old girlfriend to lunch at Oyamel and I have to admit I was a little weirded out by it. He also didn't tell me she was an old GF until after the lunch so that was also a little strange. |

OP here. Went to Jaleo. They definitely seated us as a date, in the front, behind the chain curtain in that little book. We laughed it off but no biggie. Pp this guy is not an ex or even anywhere near a past love interest so it wasn't that awkward because we didn't make it awkward.
The food I admit was a bit disappointing. My cod was severely undercooked and very chewy, couldn't finish it, everything else was just bleh nothing I felt like returning for. |
Time I Ate. It is a way of signing off before going to grab a snack or luncheon. |
| Teaism is on the affordable, casual end of the scale. The one in Penn Quarter is nice. (They're all nice, actually, but the one in Penn Quarter serves beer and wine too, and has plenty of space--not as crowded as the Dupont garrett.) |
| That's too bad about your cod. We've been going there for years and I only had one dish once (pulpo tapas) that wasn't good. |
