Freshman DC in RM IB with average GPA

There is not a whole lot we can do with HS mismatch (I do not think it is) - DC would not consider moving to homeschool, loves RM IB program, teachers and friends. However, how can you figure a mismatch?

How are motivation issues being demonstrated? RM IB magnet program is creme de la creme -- B's don't seem bad -- you say that he loves the program, which is great. How much time, in general, does he study? Does he go to all of his classes? Turn his work in? What do his teachers say?

How specifically is he showing lack of motivation?
