I think you need to formalize your childcare arrangement with your mom. Do some research on what's the going rate for babysitter/nannies in your area, make your mom an offer, and then tell her that you'll give her $X to compensate her for watching LO. If you need to do the grocery shopping, or any other kind of shopping, make a list of what you need and give her the cash necessary to go get it. Don't give her your credit card.
She's free to spend her money however she likes. The problem is you still consider it your money. It's not, it's her salary and none of your business what she does with it. If she offers up your house to your brother without asking you, then respond as her daughter, not her employer and let her be the one to tell your brother that she hadn't properly checked with everyone before making that offer. |
