| Congrats, OP!! |

Please, details, OP. I've been home for 16 years and am about to start a job search.
How did you find your job? How long did it take? Where did you start? What's your field? I'm in p.r./marketing (or was, 16 years ago), but jobs seem scarce these days, especially for someone with experience that's so old! I'm thinking it might make sense to change fields. I've always wanted to be a librarian! Please, OP, more details! You are living my dream (and likely the dream of lots of SAHMs wanting to go back to work, but not knowing where to start). Thanks! And Congratulations! |
OP here, I was the medical field before I had kids. I started volunteering with the school a few years ago, and that worked into a full time position starting next year. Five years ago, I started taking classes and earned a degree in early childhood education while still staying home with the kids. My DH has been very supportive of me, and that is very helpful. I was so scared because of my age, but I found that people are so excited to help women who are trying to go back to work. I recommend taking some classes at a community college, that will get you out there meeting people and facing your fears. Once I did that, It seemed I wasn't afraid anymore, and things just started falling into place. Good Luck!!! |
